COLITIS 

 

 

The colitis is defined as an inflammatory bowel disease and may progress to cause the appearance of small bleeding ulcers on the surface of the lining of the colon and rectum.

 

 

Although colitis usually occurs in people younger than 45 years, also may appear, to a lesser degree, among adolescents and young adults.

Among the most common causes of colitis are:

  • States of stress and nervousness
  • Poor eating habits
  • Autoimmune disorders that cause the body's own response
  • Bacteria
  • Food allergies or lactose intolerance
  • Sleep problems.
  • Oral contraceptives.
  • Smoking

The person with colitis shows the following:

  • Sudden attacks of diarrhea with cramps followed by constipation.
  • Mucous stool or mucous membrane fragments.

When the colitis progresses and becomes severe, usually other symptoms such as:

  • Foul-smelling liquid stools with much mucus.
  • Intermittent or irregular fever
  • Bleeding and perforation.

Care must be taken when there are bleeding and diarrhea, since the former can cause anemia, and diarrhea, dehydration due to loss of electrolytes, minerals and other elements.

Beneficial foods

Carrot, parsley and spinach are good sources of beta carotene which the body converts to vitamin A which is required for tissue repair.

Broccoli contains bioflavonoids necessary for healing of the mucous membranes.

Broccoli, lettuce, cabbage and spinach have vitamin K deficiency which has been associated with colitis.

Beet greens, spinach, parsley and garlic that contains magnesium, which facilitates  the  relaxation  muscle  of  the  intestinal walls.

Ginger, parsley, and carrots are good sources of zinc promotes wound healing.   The papaya also promotes cell regeneration that benefits the lining of the intestine.

 

JUICETHERAPY  

1) Healing juice

Ingredients

1 small bunch parsley

3 carrots

1 / 2 apple

Wash and chop all ingredients.  Remove the apple seeds.  Place the pieces of carrot, apple and parsley in a blender along with a glass of water.  Whisk briefly.  Strain and drink a glass a day after a meal .

2) Healing juice

Ingredients

1 small bunch parsley

1 small bunch spinach

3 carrots, greens  

Wash the parsley and spinach.  Chop and enter into a blender.   Wash and chop the carrots.  Place them with other ingredients and beat for a while.  Strain and drink a glass after a meal.

 

3) Healing juice

Ingredients

2 lettuce leaves

1 small piece of cabbage

3 carrots, greens

1 small broccoli

1 / 2 apple

Wash thoroughly and cut all the ingredients.  Remove the apple seeds.   Place in the blender with a glass of water.  Liquify for a moment and take three times a day when there are critical events and one day when it is more standardized after a meal.

 

4) Shake cure for ulcerative

Ingredients

4 peaches

25 ml aloe vera juice

150 ml plain yogurt

2 tablespoons oatmeal

Wash peaches and bone.  Place all ingredients in blender. Process on medium speed for all ingredients are blended. Drink a glass when needed.

 

5) Shake Cure for ulcerative

Ingredients

1 slice of papaya

4 tablespoons soy milk

Wash from the papaya and slice into pieces.  Put the pieces together in a blender with a glass of soy milk.  Whisk briefly.  Take two glasses a day (one after breakfast and another after dinner.)

 

Recommendations

Eat six small meals rather than three large meals.  

Ensure that meals are quiet;

Eat slowly and chew food thoroughly.

Drink plenty of fluids to avoid unbalanced fluids and electrolytes, especially if there is diarrhea.

Avoid red meat, processed and refined foods (like white flour), junk food, sugar-containing products, alcohol and coffee.  Instead, eat well-cooked rice for breakfast.

Avoid cow's milk, but eat low-fat yogurt containing Lactobacillus acidophilus which is beneficial for people suffering from colitis.  

Eliminated from the diet during the acute phase, all solid foods.  Prefer juices and soups, which provide nutrients and fluids in a way that allows the bowel rest.

Practice relaxation techniques like yoga or visualization to reduce stress.
